A container ship

Globalized consumer-led capitalism is most vulnerable during the crucial shipping phase. Goods are produced with cheap labour (and likely cheap raw materials too) in less developed countries, and then shipped back to the markets, particularly the developed West, by use of the basic technology of globalization: the container ship. If a commentator argues that globalized capitalism has become unassailable, absolute, impregnable, then they are not thinking tactically, because a container ship on the high-seas for twenty days (sailing from China to the Netherlands) is not at all invincible, it is usually not even well-fortified.
